Leaftiers

We see leaftier activity each season, July through August. If you have redbud or sweetgum trees, you need to keep aware of this pest. These particular caterpillars roll the leaves over and stick them together with strands of silk and then feed inside that protection. The leaftiers eat the foliage, causing the leaf surface to turn brown. Look for parts of leaves stuck together like two pieces of paper.
